there are a lot of people talking about 2012. from what i have looked into, it is all about the Sunspot cycles.

A sunspot is a radiation flare from solar storms on the sun. These storms last thousands and millions of years and have a regular pattern that cycles. each small cycle is like 11 years but there are bigger cycles. the bigeest one is estimated to be 4824 years or something.

The aztecs, mayans and egyptians - all of who built pyramids and left pictorial references to the sun and sunspot cycles - were separated by about 5000 years each...and each of these civilisations died out !!

We still don't have the technology to build the Pyramids!!! How will we fare?

ummm, yes Sheena, (I love your picture btw xox)  I think it is a bit scary but it is based on scientific fact so I dunno what to think. seems strange to think that only a few years from now things may get so bad that millions and millions of people are going to die.

the peak of the next BIG sunspot cycle falls towards the end of 2012 and it will be in the form of a HUGE SOLAR flare from our sun. The heat and radiation from this flare will be immense and the effects are unpredictable but amongst the possibilities are the following :

1: overheating of the earths atmosphere as the thin ionosphere which protects the earth from normal levels of heat will not be enough to shield it from a super solar flare.

2: massive radiation for the duration of the sloar flar which could be years. this could cause immediate or slow death or at the VERY LEAST severe infertility problems causing a death by attrition of life on earth.

3: the magnetic fields of the earth may be severely affected. Geologists have discovered whilst examining core samples from the earth that the North and South Poles of the earth have changed at least twice in the past. No-one really know what effect this would have and whether the earth would flip over (quickly or slowly) or whether it will cause huge upheavals of landmass causing earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tidal waves, megastorms etc.

if nasa are so sure then why aren't they doing anything about it?

i was reading on another website that theres a planet X that is due to come close to the earth around 2012. The guy who is redicting this is Zakaria Sitchin. Have you guys heard anything about this?

The stuff by Zacharia Sitchin is pretty interesting aswell. His theory is that life on earth was seeded by an alien civilisation who live on Planet X. Apparently Planet X passes through our solar system every XXXXX number of years and the next time will be 2012. Even though this sounds FAR OUT, the way he has linked a number of past events make very interesting reading.

A good one was where he talks about Noahs Ark and the great flood. His version is that the ARK was a genetic seedbank in which male and female genes of every species of plant and animal were stored so that they could be re-engineered after the turmoil of the Great Flood settled. Now the religious version of this is similar but has illogical aspects to it which are countered by the seedbank theory. You couldn't really build a boat big enough to take the actuall animals AND food for them for 40 days AND stop them from fighting and eating each other.

Even today, there are such projects where genes and seedbanks are being created by governments "JUST IN CASE' of some natural calamity...one is in Norway and funnily enough it is called an Ark!!

Maybe there is some truth to this. It is certainly within the remit of Islam that Allah provided advanced knowledge of such things to Noah and we already know that there existed advanced civilizations way before our current one.

Whatever the truth is, it certainly is VERY interesting.

I've actually been to these tunnels in Norway during an official visit to the country. Delegate were briefly shown around the less secretive parts of this compound. To the untrained person, you'd not know that you were so far undergraound as the size of this facility is impressive. I didn't realise that there was so much inforation re 2012 ploating around. I thought it was only in the higher official circles. Theres not much anyone can do about it and theres no garantee that these underground bunkers around the world will be of much use but still its something and will save a lot of people but the question is who will be saved and who decides?

NUCKLEAR war might be happening very much sooner than 2012 if India and Pakistan carry on this way..and it won't just be in this region, it'll be everywhere..there are enough suitcase bombs sold by korea and iran to amke it easy to attack any city in the world
